O Tannenbaum ( Oh Christmas Tree )

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
                                                    Thy leaves are so unchanging.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
                                                    Thy leaves are so unchanging.
Not only green when summer's here
But also when 'tis cold and drear.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
                                                    Thy leaves are so unchanging.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
You fill all hearts with gaiety.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
You fill all hearts with gaiety.
On Christmas Day, you stand so tall,
Affording joy to one and all.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
You fill all hearts with gaiety.

A few days after Thanksgiving we put our tree up. Just a little tree. I have been lighting it every night. It was a gift last year from my aunt because we didnt have a tree. She gave me some ornaments my grandmother had given her that she no longer put on her tree. Funny is I remember these ornaments.
A few years ago my hunny was out of work. Times were tough. I found something online that brought in some money at least enough to make sure the electric wasnt turned off and we had food..mostly rice and chicken sometimes just rice. He was out of work for over a year. I was on the computer for close to 20 hours straight (he took over when i slept for a few hours ) trying to make 30 bucks a day..doesnt seem like alot to some but it helped with the bills. Other family members helped us out and we are so very thankful to them from the bottom of our hearts. We learned that year and a half about budgeting and that a little meant alot. When he finally got a job even though it was with a temp agency at first, we were over joyed! Our first meal on his first paycheck I made spagetti and we ate a whole pot of it stuffing ourselves until we could barely move. It was heavenly. It was a treat like a vintage bottle of wine would be to others.
So now I sit here and look at this little tree. And its few decorations and am very thankful for what we have. Christmas doesn't have to be about the biggest tree or the most lights on your house. Nor is it about what people want for Christmas or how many presents are under the tree just for them. Christmas is about love and giving. Its about faith, in what we know and what we care about and what we believe in. Its also about family. Family who cares and family who is there for you. Nothing else matters much after that.
